There is no such thing as a perfect golf shaft right off the assembly line. All golf shafts manufactured today, whether steel or graphite, are not perfectly straight. Nor are they perfectly round or have uniform wall structure. These imperfections affect how the shaft bends during the golf swing. As players, when we place a load on the golf shaft (load = flex during the swing) we want it to unload (the rebound you experience after flexing it) to the original position. Solid ball striking is a product of consistent shaft loading and unloading. We utilize a Golf Shaft Auditor to help us identify the stiffest plane of the shaft taking into account the manufacturing limitations described above. This information, and laser technology, is used to install the golf shaft in the optimal position to provide you the best chance to strike the ball in the center of the club face.
