Highlighting Some of Our Best Selling Golf Shafts for Drivers

Posted by Dallas Golf on 12 Jan 2021

Shopping for a late gift for yourself or for a special golfer in your life and looking for new  golf shafts for drivers? Here are some of the best of ours; meaning, at this time, these are some of the bestselling golf shafts here at Dallas Golf Company.

We’ll break down some of the features of each of them below, but if you want to learn some more about the fine points of shafts for drivers make sure you check out some of the recent posts to our blog. You can learn more about what makes a shaft well suited to your needs (or as a shaft for a driver) in “ Evaluating Driver Shafts for Sale” and “Assessing the Best Driver Shafts by Feature.”

Those are some good resources for learning more about terms like “kick point,” “flex,” “torque” and others that we will address here, but if you have other, more targeted questions, be sure to call us at 800-955-9550!

●Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue 45 Graphite Shaft

The Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue 45 Graphite Shaft is one of the best selling shafts on our website at the moment, hands down. It’s available to come with a large number of compatible tips and grips and we offer it here in regular, stiff and senior flexes to appeal to a wider range of skill sets.

With a low kick point and a torque rating of 5, this shaft combines an interesting set of features, especially if you get it in the highest stiffness available. The low kick point and the fairly high torque rating would make for an interesting combo - it also has a “responsive tip design” that with the low kick point improves launch angles for maximum distance. Forgiving yet capable of performing in the hands of very experienced players, this is one of our most popular golf shafts for drivers today.

●Project X HZRDUS Red 6 Graphite Shaft

The Project X HZRDUS Red 6 Graphite Shaft is one of those golf shafts for drivers that is well situated to offer extremely high performance in the hands of the right player with a fairly high swing speed and excellent control.

Available in stiff and extra stiff flex ratings, with a mid kick point and a fairly low torque rating of 3.2, this shaft is engineered for precision, low launch angles, distance and accuracy. Of course, it requires a whole lot of practice and keying-in to achieve these, but with determination and attention (and of course the aforementioned practice) this shaft is capable of delivering on its reputation.

This shaft has also been reviewed to be very tough and offer similar accuracy and speed to the Project X HZRDUS Black, with only a slightly higher launch.

●Aldila Rogue Silver 130 MSI 70 Graphite Shaft

Any collection of best selling golf shafts for drivers is likely to contain at least one entry from Aldila, and this one in no exception; although this is Aldila’s lone showing on this list.

The Aldila Rogue Silver 130 MSI 70 Graphite Shaft comes in stiff and “tour extra stiff” flex ratings, in slightly varying weights and torque ratings. Both of them feature a kick point that is considered “high.”

Although every manufacturer has its own metrics for what does or does not constitute extra stiffness, the objective torque rating of this shaft gives some insight into just how stiff it is. Coming in at just 2.9 degrees of torque, this is an amazing stiff, high performance shaft that, when paired with the right driver head, can deliver low, flat launches, impressive distances and accuracy. Maybe that’s why it’s such a customer favorite.

●Fujikura Vista Pro 55 Graphite Shaft

Fujikura, like Aldila, is one of the most highly respected producers of golf shafts in the world; only, at present, we have many more featured Fujikura bestsellers. This graphite shaft in particular, the Fujikura Vista Pro 55 Graphite Shaft, offers a much wider range of performance than the Aldila above.

As it’s available with so many different tips and grips installed, and in such a wide range of stiffnesses, this is a graphite shaft that many different players, with equally diverse skill sets, can swing and appreciate.

Available in stiff, regular and senior shaft flex ratings, and with variable kick points, this shaft offers a lot of flexibility in who can use it (no pun intended). The torque rating is pretty steady at 5 degrees; it offers a pretty fair balance across its features.

●Fujikura SIX XLR8 X-Flex Graphite Shaft

If the Fujikura shaft mentioned above is an “everyman’s” shaft (assuming you’re working with the right stiffness rating), then this Fujikura, the Six XLR8 X-Flex Graphite Shaft, is precision dialed in with the needs of experienced players with high swing speeds in mind.

It’s only available in what Fujikura calls extra stiff, has a low torque rating (3.6) and has a mid-high kick point. It’s also made with a responsive shaft design and core material has been focused in the grip and tip sections of the shaft; this makes the shaft stronger and also improves clubhead speed.

Ideal for players with high swing speeds looking to add distance to their swings without compromising on accuracy, this is one shaft not to pass over - it deserves a moment of your time.

Fujikura Motore Speeder VC 6.3 Tour Spec Senior GraphiteShaft

With a name like “Fujikura Motore Speeder VC 6.3” you might not expect what you’re about to read - but that’s just what it is. With a mid kick point, forgiving flexibility ratings and torque ratings varying between 3.7 and 4 degrees, this shaft is geared towards those with less experience or slower swing speeds looking to extract a few extra drops of performance from a shaft.

Don’t get this confused with other Fujikura Motore Speeders, which are available in other stiffness ratings for boosted performance and more exacting demands. Actually, this is the senior version of a series of shafts that make some of the longest and straightest drives imaginable possible. Golf shafts in this line are reinforced to stand up better to fast swings and improve energy transfer upon impact.

●Dallas Golf Comp CZ Stiff Flex Graphite Shaft

Our own brand has made it onto our list of some of the best selling golf shafts for drivers . The Dallas Golf Comp CZ Stiff Flex Graphite Shaft is made with performance enhancing features that could give any other shaft on this list a run for their money.

Stiff, with a mid-low kick point and relatively low torque, this is a budget-friendly alternative to some of the more costly shafts on this list. The best part is, you get comparable performance at a lower price.

●Mitsubishi Tensei CK Blue 60 Graphite Shaft

This golf shaft (the Mitsubishi Tensei CK Blue 60) comes from a line of Mitsubishi shafts that are inspired by the Japanese concept of “transformation”; the Tensei CK Blue is made with several different materials to achieve high end, mid-launch, mid-spin performance.

Similarly to how innovation in other markets drives progress, Mitsubishi has paired up materials like Carbon Fiber and Kevlar to lighten the shaft, improve strength and enable faster swings, longer distances and better accuracy.

●Mitsubishi Diamana D+ 80 Graphite Shaft

The Mitsubishi Diamana D+ Series, which includes the Diamana D+ 80, is remarkable for technological innovation, just like the Mitsubishi mentioned above. This line incorporates groundbreaking technology like M.D.I., Tough-QURE TM and Variable Torque to achieve higher levels of performance that have ever before been available.

M.D.I., or Multi Dimensional Interlay, is the process of creating a fiber shaft construction with intersection fiber orientation to provide precision flexion and torque for better resilience and energy transfer. Stronger and better able to adapt to different player strengths, these shafts are some of the most popular today.

●Matrix Ozik 6Q3 Stiff Flex Graphite Shaft

The Matrix Ozik 6Q3 Stiff Flex Graphite Shaft is another one of those graphite shafts for drivers that is engineered to provide precision performance for players with higher swing speeds and exacting demands for accuracy, spin, launch and distance.

Capable of offering precision performance that can only really be rivalled by other shafts that are typically twice the price or more, that might just be the most attractive thing about this high-performance, stiff-rated shaft - it comes in at what can only be called a very competitive price.

●Fujikura Ventus Blue 6 Graphite Shaft

The Fujikura Ventus Blue 6 Graphite Shaft is available in regular, stiff and extra stiffness ratings, but its torque rating hardly varies and remains fairly low across the board, varying from 3.1 to 3.5 degrees. It’s also a fairly light shaft (65) with a mid kick point; it’s well engineered for players of varying swing speeds.

●UST ProForce V2 6 Graphite Shaft

UST’s only entry on this list, the UST ProForce V2 6 Graphite Shaft still makes the list of some of our best selling driver shafts.

It’s also similar to the above shaft, except it’s just slightly heavier and has a slightly lower set of torque ratings. It’s available in stiff, regular and extra stiff, and the XS offers a torque rating of 2.9; with it’s mid kick point, it allows for slightly more precision than the shaft above when you hold all else equal.

Overall, it offers fairly adaptable performance and is capable of satisfying the needs of players looking for precision as well. Check the link above or call us for more information.

You may have noticed that some of the companies mentioned here, such as Mitubishi and Fujikura have multiple listings in this entry but that they are not categorized together. That is because, at the time of this writing (December 2020) these shafts are listed in descending order from best selling on downward. These manufacturers, to be true, have multiple appearances in the same list because they are some of the most renowned in the sport, but that is the reason for the discrepancy.
